ITB Berlin 2016: A Day on the Danube

“A day on the Danube” the title of the brand-new Danube Image Brochure and theme of this years’ Danube@ITB presentation, stands for the huge variety of activities and attractions the Destination Danube has to offer where actually one day is never enough. During ITB Berlin 2016, the Danube countries present their tourism products in the frame of Culture, Nature and Active Tourism with a focus on biking and cruising along the Danube.

Guided Danube Tour – Biking along the Danube

Danube Forum

On Friday, 11th March, at 3.30 p.m. at the ITB Berlin Convention events the Danube Forum on the topic “Living the future on the Danube” – Neighboring destinations – partners or competitors?’ focusses on the role of the regional initiatives/organizations in creation of trans-national tourism products.  Raissa Benchoufi, Managing Director, ARGE Deutche Donau, Nick Greenfield, Head of Tour Operators Relations (ETOA), Daniela Wagner, Regional Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa (PATA) and Rujana Bušic Srpak, Tourist Board Vukovar-Srijem County are among the speakers of the panel discussion and share their expert knowledge on tourism development issues and opportunities of the Danube region. The Forum is moderated by Gordana Plamenac, Chairperson of DCC.

The Fourth Danube Salon

“EU Strategy for the Danube Region, Identity and Tourism” is leading theme of the 4th Danube Salon that will take place on 10th of March on the occasion of ITB Berlin 2016. The event is organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia and the Representation of Land Baden-Württemberg, with the support of the Danube Competence Centre and 16 partners from the Danube region. Event will contain fruitful discussion on the topic followed by delicacies from Serbia and Baden-Württemberg, music from the Danube countries and a presentation by the event’s cooperation partners and co-organisers.

Stamp and win – The Danube Passport Game

The famous Danube@ITB Passport game is back! Take the Danube passport and get an impression of what a day on the Danube could be like by travelling through the Danube country stands on ITB Berlin 2016. The Danube: 3,000 kilometers, ten countries and a wealth of sights to discover. From German unique architecture, Austrian cycling trails, Hungarian unforgettable cuisine, Croatian wines, Serbian nightlife and Roman heritage in Bulgaria up to the Romanian Danube Delta. Visit the stands of the mentioned countries and collect seven stamps in your passport in order to enter the run for your Day on the Danube by winning one of the trips to Destination Danube.
